Uses of  MET XL 3D 50 mg Tablet

MET XL 3D 50 mg Tablet, ( Telmisartan ) for the treatment of High blood pressure ( hypertension ).

( Metoprolol ), to treat high blood pressure, chest pain due to poor blood flow to the heart, and a number of conditions involving an abnormally fast heart rate.

( Chlorthalidone ), is a medication for heart diseases. In the management of High blood pressure ( hypertension ), and edema.

How it Work

Telmisartan is angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works by relaxing blood vessels which lower the blood pressure and also reduces the workload on the heart. Moreover, It is believed that telmisartan’s dual mode of action may provide protective benefits against the vascular and renal damage caused by diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Metoprolol is a medication of the selective β1 receptor blocker type.

Chlorthalidone is a type of thiazide-like diuretic that works by decreasing the reabsorption of water by the kidneys. so that blood volume decreases and urine volume increases. as a result, it lowers the high blood pressure. Hence swelling. It is used either alone or in combination with other drugs.

 Common Side Effects

Telmisartan; Common Side effects are similar to another angiotensin II receptor antagonists and include tachycardia and bradycardia (fast or slow heartbeat), hypotension (low blood pressure), edema Such as (swelling of arms, legs, lips, tongue, or throat, the latter leading to breathing problems), and allergic reactions.

Metoprolol; Common side effects include trouble sleeping, feeling tired, feeling faint, low blood pressure and abdominal discomfort.

Chlorthalidone; Common side effects include electrolyte disturbances ( abnormal electrolyte level in blood ), and dehydration. Also Orthostatic Hypotension ( blood pressure decrease on standing up).
