Uses of   LIPICARD 200 mg Tablet

LIPICARD, ( fenofibrate ) is a drug that lowers plasma cholesterol levels. Hence  Either It reduce levels of certain  lipids in people with primary hyper lipidemia, alone Or in combination with Ezetimibe. It reduce cholesterol levels in people at risk of cardiovascular disease. Like other fibrates, it reduces both low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) levels, as well as increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels and reducing triglyceride levels.

How it Work 

Fenofibrate enhance catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles and reduced secretion of VLDL underlie the hypotriglyceridemic effect of fibrates, Hence lowering levels of circulating cholesterol.

Common Side Effects

fenofibrate; Common side effects are headache, nausea, allergic reaction, musculoskeletal pain, diarrhoea, Upper respiratory tract infection.
