FEBUSTAT 80 mg Tablet, ( Febuxostat ) to treat chronic gout and hyperuricemia.
How it Work
Febuxostat is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor family of medications.
It is non-purine inhibitor. Hence, febuxostat inhibits xanthine oxidase. Therefore reducing production of uric acid. Therefore, decreases in uric acid formation.
Common Side Effects
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, arthralgia, headache, increase in hepatic serum enzyme levels and rash.
Contraindications
Febuxostat is contraindicate with concomitant use of theophylline and chemotherapeutic agents, (Such as azathioprine and 6-mercaptopurine ).
