ELIPRAN, ( Eletriptan ) is a Triptans, a family of tryptamine-based agent for the Treatment of migraines and cluster headaches.
How it Work
The drugs of this class act as agonists for serotonin receptors in blood vessels and nerve endings in the brain due to which this kind of headaches occurs. Hence, relaxes the blood vessels and nerve endings in the brain. So relieve migraines.
Common Side Effects
Common side effects include; Neck pain, Nausea, Vomiting, Fatigue, Dry mouth, Throat pain, warm sensation, sleepiness.

The history of triptans began with the proposed existence of then-unknown substance, In the late 1940s two groups of investigators, one in Italy and the other in the United States identified a substance that was called serotonin in the US and enteramine in Italy. In the early 1950s, it was confirmed that both substances were the same.
They are not effective for the treatment of a tension headache or other kinds of pain.
The first clinically available triptan was sumatriptan, which has been marketed since 1991.
