Uses of  ATORVAST 20 mg Tablet

ATORVAST, ( Atorvastatin ) primarily as a lipid-lowering agent and for prevention of events associated with cardiovascular disease. Hence lowers the cholesterol and triglycerides in blood. Also for increase in LDL level in blood.

How it Work 

Atorvastatin works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme found in liver tissue that plays a key role in production of cholesterol in the body. Hence it lowers ( LDL ) bad cholesterol and triglycerides and ( HDL ) raise good cholesterol.

Common Side Effects

Atorvastatin; Common side effects are headache, nausea, allergic reaction, musculoskeletal pain, rise in liver enzyme, rise in creatine phosphokinase level in blood, diarrhoea or constipation, rise in glucose level in blood and flatulence.
