Uses of  ATORSAVE EZ Tablet

ATORSAVE EZ Tablet ( Atorvastatin ) primarily as a lipid-lowering agent and for prevention of events associated with cardiovascular disease. Hence lowers the cholesterol and triglycerides in blood. Also for increase in LDL level in blood.

( Ezetimibe ) is a drug that lowers plasma cholesterol levels. Hence  Either It reduce levels of certain lipids in people with primary hyperlipidemia, alone or with a statin Or It reduce levels of certain lipids in people with mixed hyperlipidemia, in combination with fenofibrate.

How it Work 

Atorvastatin works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme found in liver tissue that plays a key role in production of cholesterol in the body. Hence it lowers ( LDL ) bad cholesterol and triglycerides and ( HDL ) raise good cholesterol.

Ezetimibe inhibits the absorption of cholesterol from the small intestine and decreases the amount of cholesterol normally available to liver cells, leading them to absorb more from circulation and Hence lowering levels of circulating cholesterol.

Common Side Effects

Atorvastatin; Common side effects are headache, nausea, allergic reaction, musculoskeletal pain, rise in liver enzyme, rise in creatine phosphokinase level in blood, diarrhoea or constipation, rise in glucose level in blood and flatulence.

Ezetimibe; Common side effects are headache, nausea, allergic reaction, musculoskeletal pain, diarrhoea, rise in Liver function test.
