Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that dilates (widens) blood vessels and improves blood flow. Amlodipineis used to treat chest pain (angina) and other conditions caused by coronary artery disease. Amlodipine is used in the management of hypertension and coronary artery disease (chronic stable angina, vasospastic angina, and angiographically documented CAD without heart failure or ejection fraction < 40%.). It can be used as either monotherapy or combination therapy for the management of hypertension or coronary artery disease.

Atenolol belongs to a class of drugs known as beta blockers. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. This medication is also used to treat chest pain (angina) and to improve survival after a heart attack.
