Uses of  TRIOLSAR HS 20 Tablet

TRIOLSAR HS 20, ( Olmesartan ) for the treatment of hypertension. It may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents High blood pressure ( hypertension ), diabetic nephropathy (kidney damage due to diabetes) and congestive heart failure.

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that dilates (widens) blood vessels and improves blood flow. Amlodipineis used to treat chest pain (angina) and other conditions caused by coronary artery disease. Amlodipine is used in the management of hypertension and coronary artery disease (chronic stable angina, vasospastic angina, and angiographically documented CAD without heart failure or ejection fraction < 40%.). It can be used as either monotherapy or combination therapy for the management of hypertension or coronary artery disease.

Chlorothalidone is a medication for heart diseases. In the managament of High blood pressure ( hypertension ), and edema.

How it Work 

Olmesartan, is an  angiotensin II receptor antagonist. that is, they block the activation of angiotensin II AT₁ receptors. Blockage of AT₁ receptors directly causes vasodilation, reduces secretion of vasopressin, and reduces production and secretion of aldosterone, among other actions. Hence, The combined effect reduces blood pressure.

Amlodipine, is an angio-selective calcium channel blocker. Amlodipine inhibits calcium ion influx across cell membranes, with a greater effect on vascular smooth muscle cells. This causes vasodilation and a reduction peripheral vascular resistance, thus lowering blood pressure.

Chlorothalidone is a type of thiazide like diuretic that works by decreasing the reabsorption of water by the kidneys. so that blood volume decreases and urine volume increases. as a result it lower the high blood pressure. Hence swelling. It is used either alone or in combination with other drugs.

Common Side Effects

Olmesartan; Common side effects include Headache, Nausea, chest pain, fatigue, dizziness, light-headedness due to low blood pressure and rashes.

Common side effects of Amlodipine include swelling, feeling tired, abdominal pain, and nausea.

Common side effects of Chlorothalidone include electrolyte disturbances ( abnormal electrolyte level in blood ), and dehydration. Also Orthostatic Hypotension ( blood pressure decrease on standing up) .
