Uses of  TORLACTONE 20 mg Tablet

TORLACTONE, Torasemide and Spironolactone is a medication for heart diseases. In the management of High blood pressure ( hypertension ), Kidney disease and edema.

How it Work 

Torasemide is a type of loop diuretic that works by decreasing the fluid load by the kidneys. so that blood volume decreases and urine volume increases. as a result it lower the high blood pressure.  Hence swelling. Either alone or in combination with other blood pressure medications as a single pill to increase the effectiveness.

For high blood pressure it is often a first line treatment. It is taken by mouth. at low doses for the management of hypertension.

Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic, meaning that it helps the body get rid of water but still keep potassium.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects include very low electrolyte disturbances ( abnormal electrolyte level in blood ) than other medicines in this class, Also headache, increased creatinine concentration, nausea and vomiting.

Spironolactone can cause urinary frequency.
