SORBITRATE 10 mg Tablet, is a medication most commonly used for heart diseases. This specifically includes Angina pectoris.It is a medication in heart failure, esophageal spasms, and to treat and prevent chest pain from not enough blood flow to the heart. It has been found to be particularly useful in heart failure due to systolic dysfunction together with hydralazine in black people.

How it Work

Isosorbide dinitrate belongs to a group of drugs called nitrates. Which includes many other nitrates like Isosorbide mononitrate, for angina pectoris, a painful symptom of ischemic heart disease caused by inadequate flow of blood and oxygen to the heart and as a potent antihypertensive agent. So It corrects the imbalance between the flow of oxygen and blood to the heart.

Hence Isosorbide dinitrate is a class drug used for the prophylactic treatment of angina pectoris; that is, it is taken in order to prevent or at least reduce the occurrence of angina
