Uses of OLVANCE M 50 mg Tablet

OLVANCE M 50 mg Tablet, ( Olmesartan ) for the treatment of hypertension. It may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents High blood pressure ( hypertension ), diabetic nephropathy (kidney damage due to diabetes) and congestive heart failure.

Metoprolol, to treat high blood pressure, chest pain due to poor blood flow to the heart, and a number of conditions involving an abnormally fast heart rate.

How it Work 

Olmesartan, is an  angiotensin II receptor antagonist. that is, they block the activation of angiotensin II AT₁ receptors. Blockage of AT₁ receptors directly causes vasodilation, reduces secretion of vasopressin, and reduces production and secretion of aldosterone, among other actions. Hence, The combined effect reduces blood pressure.

Metoprolol, is a medication of the selective β₁ receptor blocker type.

Common Side Effects

Olmesartan; Common side effects include Headache, Nausea, chest pain, fatigue, dizziness, light-headedness due to low blood pressure and rashes.

Metoprolol; Common side effects include trouble sleeping, feeling tired, feeling faint, low blood pressure and abdominal discomfort.
