In type 2 diabetes. This decreases the amount of sugar that passes into your blood after a meal and prevents periods of hyperglycemia (high blood sugar). In order to improve blood sugar together with diet and exercise in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Miglitol 50 mg tablet is active in the small intestine. It inhibits enzymes which are responsible for the breakdown of complex sugar into simple sugars such as glucose. Hence it slows the digestion of sugar in the intestines. primarily lowers the post-meal rise in blood sugar levels.
