Uses of  LISTRIL PLUS Tablet

LISTRIL PLUS, ( Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide )  is a medication for heart diseases. In the management of High blood pressure ( hypertension ), Kidney disease and edema.

How it Work 

Hydrochlorothiazide ( HCTZ ) is a type of thiazide like diuretic that works by decreasing the reabsorption of water by the kidneys. so that blood volume decreases and urine volume increases. as a result it lower the high blood pressure.  Hence swelling. Either alone or in combination with other blood pressure medications as a single pill to increase the effectiveness.

For high blood pressure it is often a first line treatment. It is taken by mouth.

Lisinopril ; The inhibition of this system ( by ACE ) causes an overall decrease in blood pressure.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects include electrolyte disturbances ( abnormal electrolyte level in blood ), and dehydration. Also

headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea and vomiting.
