LASIX 20 mg, is a medication for heart diseases. This includes High blood pressure ( hypertension ), edema ( fluid retention due to heart, liver, lungs, kidney disease ) and hypercalcemia ( increased calcium level in blood ).

How it Work 

Furosemide is a type of Loop diuretic that works by decreasing the reabsorption of sodium by the kidneys.
as a result it lower the high blood pressure. Hence swelling.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects include electrolyte disturbances ( Decreased potassium level in blood ), ringing in the ears and sensitivity to sun. Also Orthostatic Hypotension ( blood pressure decrease on standing up) .
