IMDUR 60 mg PR Tablet, is a medication most commonly used for heart diseases. This specifically includes Angina pectoris.

How it Work

Isosorbide mononitrate belongs to a group of drugs called nitrates. Which includes many other nitrates like Isosorbide dinitrate, for angina pectoris, a painful symptom of ischemic heart disease caused by inadequate flow of blood and oxygen to the heart and as a potent antihypertensive agent. So It corrects the imbalance between the flow of oxygen and blood to the heart.

Hence Isosorbide mononitrate is a class drug used for the prophylactic treatment of angina pectoris; that is, it is taken in order to prevent or at least reduce the occurrence of angina

Common side effects include headache, feeling tired, orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing).
