FEMELLA, ( Simvastatin ) is a lipid-lowering medication. It is along with exercise, diet, and weight loss to decrease elevated lipid (fat) levels. Hence to decrease the risk of heart problems in those at high risk. It is taken by mouth.

How it Work 

Simvastatin works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme found in liver tissue that plays a key role in the production of cholesterol in the body. Hence it lowers ( LDL ) bad cholesterol and triglycerides and ( HDL ) raise good cholesterol.

Common Side Effects

Simvastatin; Common side effects are a headache, nausea, allergic reaction, musculoskeletal pain, the rise in a liver enzyme, diarrhea or constipation, the rise in glucose level in blood and flatulence.
