Uses of  ENAPRIL HT Tablet

ENAPRIL HT,  ( Enalapril ) is a medication for heart diseases. This includes High blood pressure ( hypertension ),  heart failure, and Preservation of kidney disease in diabetic nephropathy.

( Hydrochlorothiazide ) is a medication for heart diseases. In the management of High blood pressure ( hypertension ), Kidney disease and edema.

 How it Work 

Enalapril, is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor.

Normally, angiotensin I is converted to angiotensin II by an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Angiotensin II constricts blood vessels, increasing blood pressure. By inhibiting the ACE, Hence it decreases levels of angiotensin II leading to less vasoconstriction and decreased blood pressure. thereby it lowers the blood pressure. Hence As a result it relaxes the heart and work more efficiently. Moreover use either by mouth or injection into a vein.

Hydrochlorothiazide ( HCTZ ) is a type of thiazide like diuretic that works by decreasing the reabsorption of water by the kidneys. so that blood volume decreases and urine volume increases. as a result it lower the high blood pressure. Hence swelling.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects of Enalapril include Headache, Nausea, Light headedness on standing. Also above all it increases serum creatinine level and dry cough.

Common side effects of Hydrochlorothiazide include electrolyte disturbances ( abnormal electrolyte level in blood ), and dehydration. Also

headache, nausea and vomiting.
