Uses of  CELAVI O Tablet

CELAVI O, ( Olmesartan ) for the treatment of hypertension. It may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents High blood pressure ( hypertension ), diabetic nephropathy (kidney damage due to diabetes) and congestive heart failure.

Cilnidipine,  to manage hypertension.

How it Work 

Olmesartan, is an  angiotensin II receptor antagonist. that is, they block the activation of angiotensin II AT₁ receptors. Blockage of AT₁ receptors directly causes vasodilation, reduces secretion of vasopressin, and reduces production and secretion of aldosterone, among other actions. Hence, The combined effect reduces blood pressure.

Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker.  Unlike other calcium antagonists, Cilnidipine can act on the N-type calcium channel in addition to acting on the L-type calcium channel. Hence it reduces blood pressure.

Common Side Effects

Olmesartan; Common side effects include Headache, Nausea, chest pain, fatigue, dizziness, light-headedness due to low blood pressure and rashes.

Common side effects of Cilnidipine is a peripheral edema.
