Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that dilates (widens) blood vessels and improves blood flow. Amlodipineis used to treat chest pain (angina) and other conditions caused by coronary artery disease. Amlodipine is used in the management of hypertension and coronary artery disease (chronic stable angina, vasospastic angina, and angiographically documented CAD without heart failure or ejection fraction < 40%.). It can be used as either monotherapy or combination therapy for the management of hypertension or coronary artery disease.
Metoprolol is a medication of the selective β1 receptor blocker type. It is used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain due to poor blood flow to the heart, and a number of conditions involving an abnormally fast heart rate. It is also used to prevent further heart problems after myocardial infarction and to prevent headaches in those with migraines.
